  The Joint Typhoon Warning Center is run by the US Navy & US Air Force at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (from 1999). They forecast tropical cyclones in the Western Pacific and other areas not covered by the National Weather Service (North Pacific--east of 180 and North Atlantic oceans).
