Loudoun House museum was established in 1984
and is the oldest high-set timber and corrugated
iron house in North Queensland.
It was entrusted
to the people of Irvinebank by the Queensland
government as a museum reserve in trust.
The museum was first open for Irvinebank's
centenary in 1981 with a display of borrowed
artefacts, which were housed in part of the
top floor. The bottom floor was still occupied
as the office of the State Treatment Works. |
